“Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value,” as Albert Einstein said. Creating value for our associates is a fundamental part of PCI’s mission. Successful leadership means investing in your associates and making sure they feel appreciated.
“To me, one of the most important things in that regard is making sure that everybody knows that they have training opportunities available for them,” Mike Smith PCI Associate.
Every company has training at the beginning of your job especially if it’s something new for you, but not a lot of companies have further individualized training opportunities. A lot of companies also do not have further seminars or talks offered by the CEO. “That’s something we do have at PCI. I feel like PCI cares about my professional development, not only for the job I’m doing, but me as a person,” Mike continues.
Ask your associates: how do they feel in the workplace? What else do they need to feel acknowledged by the management? Remember: your associates are well-rounded human beings. They do not only need you to invest in their professional growth, they also need to be celebrated for their personal side.
“So, I recommend if other companies want to make their associates feel valued, they not only implement more training programs throughout the life cycle of an associate, but also make sure that it’s clear to them that they have that opportunity,” concludes Mike.
